Red Natural Dyes Dyes are soluble, colored organic compounds that are usually applied to textiles from a solution in water. There are two major types of dyes: natural and synthetic dyes. The natural dyes are complex mixtures of components derived extracted from natural substances such as plants, animals or minerals. Synthetic dyes are made in laboratory. Pigments are chemicals that selectively absorb and reflect different spectra of light. Natural dyes are derived from plant leaves, wood, bark, stem, seed, root, insects, minerals and microorganisms. Natural dyes can be used for dyeing natural fiber, food additives, medicines, handicraft items and toys, in leather processing , makeup industry and textile industry.
